Short Beard and one of last years jakes showed up at the backyard feeders today.

Trumpeter swan mating attempt right in front of our house, in the lake- she was playing hard to get. I gave them their privacy.

RB Grosbeaks are here, I can hear the Orioles but haven't seen one yet.

I've got a huge influx of Western Tanagers, I've never had this many come into the yard over the years. At least 10 males and a few females. They are eating 2 cakes of suet a day, all fighting constantly at the suet feeder! As pretty as these birds are, I hope some of them move on soon, this is getting expensive.

Two large toms visiting the home feeders this morning. Still no Grosbeaks at the club.

Saw a Gray Catbird, a Yellow-rumped Warbler, the Spotted Towhee and what I believe is a Ruby-crowned Kinglet.

None were cooperative in posing for pictures.
