A black bird yesterday evening.

and a grackle early this morning:

Refilled in hopes the grackle would return, now nothing but sparrows fighting 😐
The one it has labeled as a Brewer's Blackbird looks like a Common Grackle to me. The bill on a blackbird is different.

You really don't want the Grackle hanging around. They will run off most other birds.

I was wondering if that “Brewers Blackbird” was accurate, but there were a lot of black birds around the neighbors house so I had no idea if it was from the same bunch. Maybe they were grackles too and I just wasn’t close enough to see.

Oh! Grackles are menaces? Ah darn I kind of like them, they’re so shiny and pretty.

There is some evidence that the wood ducks found a place to make their nest across the river. That is great news as their babies will be so much safer there. I am sad to not be seeing them at my feeder now. They haven't been here for a week, so I figure they are busy on the nest. It was so fun watching for them every evening.
