Starlings stopped by on their way south.

Last night I was in the backyard and heard loud wing flapping. Looked up and at first thought it was turkey buzzards. Nope, four of the turkeys came in tree top high and landed in the trees. After a brief hesitation, they flew to the ground and hurriedly left. Squirrels were alarming in the West hedgerow, but I couldn't see anything. Something must have made a predatory try at the turkeys. Deer in the field across the road were at ease so perhaps it was a fox.

Testosterone can make ya do crazy things. Happened to be looking out the front window and saw two deer running towards our house. As they got closer I could see that both were bucks and evidently had been fighting/chasing for a while - both were panting heavily. The smaller buck turned left on our front lawn, and instead of chasing him, the much larger buck went to the right and into the backyard. Dummy smaller buck then decided to chase him. Looked like they got into it pretty good in the brush towards the back. Enough so to get the dogs barking.
