I have a question, my Landlord's freezer was accidently turned off for a couple of days and everything defrosted. It has since been turned back on and has been for a couple of weeks. He thinks it would be a good idea to feed the Icelandic chickens the meat. I feel pretty confident that this has not been the first time the meat has been defrosted and refrozen. Also the meat is wild game that was harvested in 2017. Your thoughts?
The chickens are pasture raised, on organic layer feed and range in ages 3+ to less than a year.

I have fed my chickens chicken before, the LOVE it! Not sure about raw meat though…I would prefer at least cooking it, although I do know chickens could eat raw meat.

I've never given meat, fish or poultry to my chickens.

Meat in a freezer should be used within 4 to 12 months, poultry pieces 9 months, ground meat 3 to 4 months, according to Foodsafety.gov.
Frozen meat 4 years old that hasn't been thawed and re froze should be thrown out, in my opinion. GC

Feeding chickens meat in general is fine…the protein does them good and they love it.

Feeding OLD meat, though, is more questionable. My guess if it were cooked to a pasturizing temperature, it’d be fine…but that’s a lot of boiling of meat!
