I feed mine in their covered runs. I dislike feeding in the coop because the cleanup is easier in the runs. Sometimes, if I have a younger group that is shy, I will keep an extra container of food in the coop.

Outside the coop in a covered run. Never allow feed to get wet or allow wild birds, rats and other varmints to eat chicken feed. So I don't recommend feeding outside of a completely protected area, birds should come in from free ranging to eat and drink.

Hi! I don't feed ours in the coops. I feed them in the covered run area or outside, usually just enough for them to finish in the day so the rodents aren't invited to the party.

Welcome. I agree with @sourland, see what works for you. I feed mine both in the runs and in the coop. My run food gets brought in at night, and what falls gets thrown away.
