Feeds affecting laying?

Who are you going to see talking about this at this point other than individual people on social media sharing their personal stories? Does somebody on the TV have to report on it for it to become a real story?
no, I'm simply saying that I've not seen anyone is actually talking data, comparing feed or sending it off for analysis in their posts? I'm not in the US so I'm watching this from the outside and it all seems to be spreading very similarly to other misinformation that runs rampant on many places online. There are folks here on BYC doing a spreadsheet analysis, and I think that's a good place to start. If there are actual issues in the food - why are people not doing more to talk to the companies? It seems wild that a feed company would intentionally make people's chickens not lay, so perhaps it's a batch error or they've messed something up. bUt again, we don't know until it's sent off for crude analysis.

on the flipside- the light has also been increasing for almost a month now, since winter solstice was dec 21st. Do you have the batch number or photo of the label of the other feed? Maybe the folks here can run it through their spreadsheet to see if it's different
Not a bad idea but honestly either way I found a local feed that’s 2 dollars less than TSC brands. I started using it and production went from zero to eggs daily. I won’t go back to box store after this. I have never had no eggs in the winter yes slow but some production from 30+ layers every year

I think it's really good to find a local source of food whenever possible. Glad tings are going well.

How long have they been laying Before they stopped?
They started in August I believe, then picked up in September. Sometime in November it came to a dead stop. There was one particular bird, an Isa Brown, then smallest of them all that would continue to lay, but none of the rest. After switching, they've all picked back up very quickly. Got 6 today.

Mine went to dead stop right at Halloween
