I don't have any of mine left to send you, but maybe some people here on the forums that have had the same experience do. From what I've heard, it's Producer's Pride, Dumor, and Purina, all the same company.

I'd appreciate it if you would pick the lab so that folks can't accuse me of lying or whatever. I'd appreciate someone else sending some in, too, for the same reason.

@Aunt Angus, that is a very nobel thing to do. Applause applause. Asking for the feed composition (the ingredient list) might be expensive. Unless they have found a way to automate it, I believe they do that by picking out and compiling the individual flakes of various ingredients under a microscope_ It's very tedious, labor intensive and, thus, expensive. It the sort of thing one feed manufacturer might undertake to see what the competition is doing. Like industrial espionage. What will be less expensive, and what labs doing feed analysis usually do, is determine the amount of the various nutrients (fat, protein, methionine, calcium and stuff like that). This can be done in mass spectronimy machine(s). The results are the information you will usually find on the label.

I don't really know how to respond as I don't want to drag this into a completely off topic discussion, but I think you're 100% wrong and your analyses about "conspiracy theorists" aren't based in fact or reality.
Right now the "conspiracy theorists" are batting 1000 on most subjects, and it seems that people suffering consequences are the ones that didn't heed their warnings. But oh well.

Now, what can you tell me with that information? Absolutely nothing, because you insist on me excluding the most relevant information: all but one completely stopped laying until I switched feed, and now they're all laying again like they nothing every happened, and that's the same story with everyone else experiencing this phenomenon. But people like you would rather shove your heads in the sand and call us "gossipers" looking for "cheap thrills" and attention, rather than burden yourself with any potentially disturbing thoughts. I find it to be disingenuous, insulting, and shameful.

I see your point, but many of us are rather experienced flock owners. Some are actual egg farmers (I'm an actual egg farmer, for example). I've not seen anything unusual this year with my ladies - just the normal slow down. The locals here were shocked when I showed them the links folks have provided. I talked to 4 farmers just today who I ran into in town. They looked at me with the most puzzled expressions. Their flocks experienced the usual decrease "right around the time change," as one fella put it, and have only recently started laying more. Which is their normal.

Is it possible some elites somewhere are trying to control us by targeting egg production? Sure. Anything is possible. But I won't jump to conclusions just yet. I'm putting my money where my chickens' mouths are. I'm the only one who is, and I'm not even affected because my chickens are laying, even though mine eat one of the feeds in question. So I'm not discounting your experience. I'm just trusting my years of experience. Lots of folks are ignoring my experience, though.

The real problem is there is never a "Hey guys, we were wrong, sorry for worrying you" phase of the story.

How many people, new and perhaps naive, make major changes because they thought they could trust the people sharing "stories"? I think it's a shame.
Most of the people involved in gossip don't care about the consequences for others who believed them.

That's really what modern conspiracy theories are. Gossip. A cheap thrill for the people that need more attention and have no other way to get it.

I don't think it's completely fair to write off everybody that may be having actual problems either. These were not all inexperienced people that had no idea that production slows down. As someone who worked in a quality control (human) food lab, my guess is that some bad/poor quality lots/batches were OK'ed for the myriad reasons employees want to cover up mistakes (e.g. you get fired for ruining batches) and some bad batches got out.

You know who doesnt have a conspriacy theory website or YouTube channel?

My 75 year old neighbors down the street who have raised eggs for the community for 30 plus years.

Their whole flock shut down as well after Halloween and restarted in early December once they ditched Producers Pride food. That was WITH supplemental lighting. Same amount of lighting for the past 10 years plus, no changes to previous years. Birds of varying ages 9 months and up. ONLY change was the FOOD. Sorry, switch was BEFORE the solstice. Daylight hours still decreasing then. So now what??

I’ll be sure to let them know tomorrow when I see them again that people here think they are fools and ignorant and how their “trust has been abused”. What a total bunch of CRAP! Those type of comments will surely help us all.

Repeating that its a lie, not happening, is a conspiracy theory or the newbies just don’t understand chickens is really extremely sad. Bullies don’t win in the long run. Truth wins.

Lab testing and personal purchase/use will prove nothing unless you find a feed bag that has actually been implicated in this mess (same lot/batch #/series of lots). Obviously it is not every single chicken owner/consumer of the product having issues, just some people. If we could jist test new product to find problems with old product, investigations would come to nothing. The investigation of the medicine from the compound pharmacy that was causing fungal meningitis due to dirty glassware used in the compounding lab would not have found any problems if they had only tested new batches of medicine after the glassware has been properly cleaned.
