Feedstore's getting chicks in September?

That's rare. Most feed stores have chicks Jan-May/June. Some will have them until August. There was a feed store in our area that had chicks year-around, but they went out of business

I know here where I live in South Florida, we get them all year long. I guess it's a regional thing? Most likely because it's always warm here!
Probably. Chicks in the winter aren't too bad here in the puget sound over the winter. I've done it before. It's the rest of the country that can't have them. I mean, in the east coast, for example, they get several feet of snow every year...could you imagine raising chicks in that kind of weather?

I live in SW TX and we have the PERFECT climate for year round chicks. But we don't get them.
