I feel so horrible i was candling my first lot of quail eggs at day 8 and i dropped one i have health conditions that affect joints and nerves and my hand jus slipped when seen the fetus my heart broke
I know i have to *man up* as things happen whilst hatching jus feel bad

Don’t beat yourself up, it’s not your fault and you most certainly do not have to ‘man up’ your allowed to be upset. Everyone makes mistakes.

I think most hatchers have done this at least once. Mistakes happen. Quail eggs are small and easy to drop!
Thankfully it was only on day 8.
Hopefully you'll still get some hatchlings from the other eggs.

It's ok, you did nothing on purpose. Accidents DO happen, and that's all it was, an accident. Understand that, forgive yourself and move on. It's Okay!!!

To me accidents are meant to be moments, it helps to remind us that were not perfect.

I just picked up my broody hen the other morning and one of her eggs was under her wing (how did she even do that?) and it fell out and broke It really happens to the best of us. It comes with the territory unfortunately. As @Butterscotchbitesfinger said, you're allowed to be upset. So sorry about your little egg.

That is too bad. When I handle incubating eggs I try to do it over a pillow or some soft towels, I have never dropped one but if an egg slipped it would be cushioned and hopefully not break.
