Feeling A Bit Discouraged

I'm sorry that you have to go through all of this. I am blessed to have parents willing to feed and care for all of my birds, even if they aren't productive. Hopefully you'll be able to get a nice place in the country someday.
Sometimes people just won't do anything. Even when they can, and it really, stinks.

To me the solution is simple, re-home your birds. You purchased them. If your parents are just watching them for you, find them a better home. Maybe your parents will see that something is wrong and change (unlikely) or they will just be mad at you forever, or maybe worse yet, they just won't care. There are many people out there who view chickens just like you do. Find someone like that to take your birds.

If you are that worried about them, take action. Unfortunately, not everyone agrees with you as to the quality of life they should have. By the way, the rest of world never will.
