Feeling down

it looks like its crawl. its probably nothing to worry about. if its walking around and eating good its fine. if it walks with its head twisted you have a problem.

She is really struggling and has a swollon chest/abdomen. We separated her so she does not get trampled. I also noticed she still eats and drinks. It is hard for her to get up. She can but then she lays bavk down. No twisting of the head yet. That happened to some of our others that we got from this hatchery.

from the sounds of it, these chicks have gotten way to hot. if you have some sav a chick, it would do you a lot of good. there is something else i would do, but i cant tell you its right - give 1 teaspoon of ACV per quart of water for one day. the following day give a small dab of yogurt, and run 1 tablespoon of sugar in a quart of water.

what type of starter are you feeding?

We have separated this particular chick and she is eating and drinking. For food we use scratch and peck (northwestern feed non gmo) and for the water we put in some apple cider vinegar with electrolytes. The chicks are lookimg and sounding great. Our fighter's swelling has gone down but she is still weaker than the others. The temp has been at a steady 95-97 degrees. They were hatched on Monday. I believe we will be lowering the temp in the next day.

it sounds like you have a pretty good start on things, im not familiar with the feed you mentioned. if it helps any i have the best luck with nutrina feeds, but im not sure how available they are to you.

Here is one of the chicks with a growth on their neck. Does anyone know what this is?

UPDATE:
I called a hatchery in Oregon and the guy was so helpful. Luckily there has been a cancellation and they sent me 25 healthy birds at an even better price! Thanks for your support and encouagement when I was down.
