Feeling guilty and missing my aggressive roo. Am I crazy?

So last March we decided to get chickens for the first time. We ordered 9 from a hatchery and paid extra to get them all sexed. Accidents happen though and we ended up with a Lavender orpington roo. He was a shy friendly chick but once he hit 5 months he started acting aggressive. We tried all the tricks we read about online, but he only seemed to be getting worse. By the time last week rolled around, he was pecking at the side of the coop trying to get at us and we just had to drop the chicken food in the coop and run. This really wasn't fair to our hens so we tried to rehome him.
Luckily, we found someone with a farm who's rooster just got killed by a fox. We were very transparent about his human aggression but he was protective and kind to the hens so the man decided to take him. Today is the first morning without him. I miss his crow and beautiful tail feathers, I'm wondering if he's scared and confused and missing his family, I feel like I've failed him somehow. Has anyone else ever felt this way, even if their roo was aggressive?

You did the right thing. He was only going to get meaner, and you were fortunate to find him a home before something bad happened. I bet he’s just as happy with his new hens.

Of cause its normal you miss him you obviously a caring person and did all u could but u did the right thing you shouldnt have to be putting up with that and sometimes they just get worse also u rehomed him didnt cull him. I know its not nice it will get better but u defo did right thing for u your family and hens 💖💖

I know its not the same but i had 32 quail and realised i couldnt keep them all so sold 23 last week and have 9 left for me. First couple of days really missed them and felt guilty then the buyers sent me pics of them in their new home and hoe happy they looked made me realise i did the right thing
