Feeling sad... Update on Beau post 38

More good wishes for beau

Oy- I feel for you. I have one who is 14 or so and we sorta went through this last week with her. The vet gave us some antibiotics and Metacam and she is doing much much better. She just keeps making these miraculous comebacks. But I know the day is coming when we won't be able to fix her anymore. I've had her longer than my kids. My oldest child is in highschool now. She was a pup when we brought our oldest child home from the hospital when she was born. I can't imagine what life would be like without my old dog. Hopefully your old boy will be able to be with you for a little while longer. I am so sorry

to all of you who have gone through or who are going through the same.
We have the opinon that life has to be good for Beau rather than us keeping him going to be good to us. Right now its looking like life might be good for him for a little longer.

It's so hard to watch a faithful friend's health begin to give. All we can do is love them and enjoy their company while they're here, and cherish their memory when they're gone. May Beau give you more special memories before his time with you is gone...and you will know the right time. Memories of my golden boy Bear still bring a smile (and tears) to my face.

Maybe with some treatment he can recover and still have more time with you. The older they are, the more dear they become. I hope he feels better soon.

Our 13 year old blind hound dog had two full blown seizures two weeks ago, we thought the "bad" day was coming. After a trip to the vets (all blood work came back fine) and a week and a half of him forgetting where he was and that he was house broken. He's back to his normal self. Our vet put him on anti seizure meds and after a week we weaned him off because they were making him loopy. Never under estimate an old dog.
Mrs. feathers good luck with the old man.
