My sister and I keep chickens together, its our bonding thing. We had a cockerel once that attacked her pretty badly and shes terrified of all roosters now. Wellll, we started a new flock and one finally revealed himself as a cockerel. He's 6 months old and made a little crow 2 days ago. Now, of course she's scared of him. I always agreed that we wouldn't keep a rooster, but I find myself wanting to give this one a chance. Ive never been interested in keeping a roo.
He's a 6 month old Croad Langshan and just crowed and only crowed once and never again. He doesn't mate the girls. Has anyone ever had a cockerel that is this late of a bloomer?
I found him a new home, but I am feeling like we should keep him. He would make beautiful babies!!
