Fellow chicken keepers help!!!!!!!

Hi everyone. I know this is a long shot but worth a try!!!

We have 3 fantastic chickens, we have had then for about 4 weeks now. 2 are laying but 1 not showing any signs yet!!! Our girls have free run of the garden all day, only locked up at night.

Anyway the reason I'm here is to ask if anyone has found a way of keeping chickens off the patio apart from fencing. We don't mind on the grass but the 'dropping' all over the patio is driving my hubby mad!!!!

Is there something they don't like the smell or look of that I could use ?

Opefully someone will have some ideas

Hook up the hose, and spray them whenever they approach the patio. Provide shaded places away from the patio where they can 'hang out'.

That's how I got mine to stop hanging out on the deck. I always had a bowl full of water ready, and every time I caught them, I opened the door and let 'em have it. They learned in a couple weeks Also, mine did that because they knew that's where I came out to give treats, so I started coming out a different door.

Hahahahaha Mine came up on our deck and got on top of our air conditioner looking in while we watched tv. I couldn't get past the idea that someone was looking in at me.

I cant keep them off my back porch. I just have to hose it down a couple times a day. I have 24 chickens and 4 Turkeys that come up to visit several times a day. And you know they can't take 3 steps without pooping.

Thanks everyone, think I'll give it a go with the water. The problem is its so cute the way they tap on the glass door to get our attention and stand and watch us through the doors but something has to be done!
