Here are mine! Photos just taken a week or so ago. I have a 21 year old CPO'd Appaloosa mare, Miss Vickie Love (chestnut one), a 15 year old Arab/TWH gelding, Sweet Talker (fleabitten one), a 6 year old Percheron mare, Shamrock's Marceille, and a near yearling AMHA colt, Weez Sam I Am.
My first love were horses. I have 5!! I keep my chickens in the barn with my horses(no coop). My vet said that if you keep horses and chickens together that you just have to watch your horses breathing. Something about COPD...I can't really remember what he said.
Chickens can create a lot of dust and cause copd, like dusty hay. As long as it's well ventilated and no horses with heaves(copd?) I think you'd be okay.
Horses are awesome! I don't compete with mine, but I helped my brother break two last spring, and this summer I will be breaking my own by myself. His name is Cocoa, he is a registered Tennesee Walker. I don't have any good pictures of him right now, and I am not going to try to get a good one until he sheds his winter coat. He is a deep chocolatey color right now, but he will probably turn all black when he sheds his winter coat. I can see already around his nose and his legs the black hair creeping in. LOL
I do have a picture of my last horse, Leroy. He is 2 1/2 years old, Tennessee WalkerXRocky Mountain Spotted horse mix.
Don't let his good looks fool you- He HAS to be the most misbehaved horse in America. He is still young though, he will probably be a great horse when he matures a little- I traded my grandfather (he breeds tennessee walkers and has one rocky mountain spotted mare in the bunch, she is Leroy's dam) Leroy for a purebred tennessee walker (cocoa) that I will be breaking this summer. I can't wait to have a good riding horse again! I am sad that I will miss out on the spring riding season, spring is the best time to ride, IMO.
Beautiful horses everybody! I love looking at all the horse pictures
I'll try and post my horses - 3 quarterhorses and 2 paints. I lost the paint gelding recently - he ate a blister beetle and it ruptured his stomach. Talk about total devistation.
The easiest way to post pics is to go to www.photobucket.com and set up a free account and download your photos from your computer. Copy your image tag from photobucket and come here and select img on the top of the reply and paste the link.
