Female duck not eating - Please help if you have any advice

Hi everyone, just an update. Our poor darling has metal fragments in her gut. She is in hospital for the next 5 days. They are treating her with a lot of meds and she's perked up a bit. However the vet doesn't want us to get too far ahead of herself because her gut is stagnant and she is super gassy. Basically they need to get her gut moving in order for her to stay alive. We will know more tomorrow. Please keep her in your thoughts, prayers and whatever else. We just want her home.

Oh no! Thanks so much for the update. I'll be thinking of you and Yenna.

@The Sweethearts what ever happed with your duck? How is she doing?
Unfortunately I've only been able to emotionally log in here only as of today so im sorry for the delayed response.
My beautiful little girl died. The specialist said he's only seen it 3 times in 30 years. She had a successful operation on her intestines to get her stomach moving again and then had a heart attack post op.
It wasn't metal, or eating something bad, her intestines literally started sucking in on themselves. The op was her only shot at survival so that's what we did.
They called us to say shes recovering well and then 20 mins after that she died.
I've still not come to terms with it. I miss her so much and my little boy has no one now.
I'll log back in later and answer any questions anyone has, I just cant right now as I'm too upset.
Thank you all so much for caring.
