Hey, I have one female duck who, during the mating season, gets bad sores on her head from the drake. I can't put other females with them because they both can get aggressive. I was wondering if it was possible to buy or make little caps for their heads. I know saddles can be bought but its just her head that's suffering, her overall condition if very good. Any suggestions?

Thanks :)

:welcome Never heard of any kind of cap to protect the females head maybe you can come up with something and market it. ;)

Best way to protect a female from being over bred is to separate the drake from her and give her time to heal. Introducing new females[more than 1] to the drake while this female is recovering or put all females together and give the drake time out from them all. It's up to us to protect our females from an over aggressive drakes.

Introduce new females to the Drake. remove the one Female being over bred with a New Hen so they bond. Then when she is reintroduced with her new buddy Back into the Flock they won't fight so bad..
