I guess there are always surprises with my ducks. Today I saw my female khaki mount my Pekin just like the male does. Is this normal or do I have a confused duck?? Please let me know.

It’s totally normal. I have an all-female flock, and they all do this, especially when feeling extra frisky in fresh pool water! Someone on here, I don’t remember who, said that ducks tend to “love the one they’re with”, especially when there’s no drake. As long as no one is hurt or stressed, I wouldn’t worry about it!

It is completely normal! In my all female flock everyone hops on top of everyone. The highest in rank asks the lowest in rank to mount her regularly, so in my flock it is not dominance. I never worry about it, my ducks are naturally sexual creatures.

Yep, we just had sexy time in the pool here. Caligula was put to shame. Gender was not an issue.
