So I have one mature female Muscovy duck, one juvenile drake and three juvenile females... Like the title states, my mature female Muscovy has lost just about all of her flight feathers in the past week or so... it's early February in Northern Kentucky. None of the other ducks are experiencing this molt. I am at a bit of a loss as to why she is losing them (now), as everything I have read online about molting states that they generally molt in the Summer and Fall. Any insight and/or concern about feather health is greatly appreciated :) thanks!

It is an odd time to be molting but gosh the weather has been odd this winter. I had most of my Muscovy's molt in late fall but this morning my drake was inside for a few hrs visiting and boy was he dropping the feathers. Some of my Runners were molting in Dec and finishing up in Jan.
I give my flock extra protein when they are in molt and because they love it they get dog kibble the grain free[salmon and pea], good source of protein to go along with their feed. Some use Cat kibble both helps with feather growth.
