Female Pekins Fighting

Mazuri Waterfowl is their main food. Then they get leafy veggies, tomatoes, grapes etc as treats and usually a handful of mealworms now and then. (they're too dang expensive to give them regularly)

Looks like it has 14% protein unless I'm looking at the wrong Mazuri product

It's done the good so far. They've been on it the better part of 2 years.

Have you ever heard too much protein causes fighting?

I've heard too little causes pecking and ripping out feathers...

I haven't but Miss Lydia has tons more experience than I do so I try not to comment on things I know nothing about. @WVduckchick @Texas Kiki @casportpony @quackiemama @Jpat are all excellent knowledgeable people too so I'm sure some of them will chime in.

I have not heard of that causing fighting but maybe someone else has? I have heard that not enough will cause pecking and ripping out or eating feathers can not enough protein.

I don't know the connection between too much protein and fighting? Except if they're too low in protein they'll rip feathers out and such...

Also it's not usually my idea of pecking- Tinkerbell seems to be going for the jugular

I think it causes feather eating, maybe fighting is the result of that
