Female turkeys that have had a cough for months???

I called them and the receptionist lady answered and took down info on her and my info and said she will have the pathologist call me directly and give me info on testing etc so waiting on a call now :fl
Excellent! Explain to them that you want to try doing the swab yourself. Note that all they do is the test, they will not suggest treatment.

Yes, so the pathologist called me back and said they will have a swab kit ready for me within the next hour, I will actually be picking it up today. They said it’s a throat/ mouth swab and it will show and test for if she has mycoplasma. She said that it’s important that we rule that out since it’s common in turkeys and she can get worse and worse if she has it since she’s not being treated. So we are gonna try that and I should get results within the next 3 or so days. She said from there they will let me know if she tested positive for mycoplasma and if she does she needs to be treated with a veterinarian

Okay so I got the swab kit for her, the places closes soon and it’s a 30 min drive from my house so we are gonna keep it and swab her tomorrow and then bring it to them for them to send it out and test for mycoplasma. So that’s what they are going to test her for immediately and I’ll know the results within a few days for that. The pathologist didn’t see me in person it was just a receptionist so she didn’t know any other info but I called her back and she said if this test is negative they can use this same swab for some other illness test and we would go from there to test for other things
