Fence height to keep out of garden?

we do have an upper rail on our gate and that is where the roo climbs up to, I am going to hang something on it like pie pans to deter the crazy crower and I have been spraying him with a water gun to try and stop him too...

Mine love pumpkins, squash and tomatoes, but on the vine they won't touch a squash or pumpkin. They'll kill a patch of greens, but don't tend to bother green beans on the plant. They won't generally bother okra, melons, corn or cukes.

Of course, when the plants are young they'll eat it all! lol. But once grown they don't tend to bother much but the tomatoes. I just make sure I plant enough for them, me, the deer and the rabbits................
