Hey, so good to be able to log in here again !!!!

After my first try at keeping chickens when they were all kiiled off in 1 night attack I think I will try again but need to keep them safer this time. We only want a few to get fresh eggs but our kids will see them as pets so they need protection better this time.

Last time we bought a coop and put up fencing and the fence was ok after the attack so what ever did it climbed over the fence,

What would be a good height for a fence to stop things getting over ??

How large is the area you are fencing? Are you going to be keeping the chickens "loose" in the coop/run area 24/7 or will you be confining them to the secured coop during the overnight hours? What sort of wire is the current fence made of? Are you open to/opposed to employing a hot wire (or two) at key points of your perimeter? Most predatory animals can/will climb just about any height, so it isn't really about the actual height of your fence when it comes to keeping them out.
