We have a preditor-proof duck house and pen that our babies go in at night but we want them to enjoy our yard during the day. We have 8.5 acres so we only want them to have access to a small area. We don't have a fenced in yard right now but want to build something for them so they don't go too far (street, neighbors, etc.). What are some inexpensive options for a fence (height suggestions as well) just to let them play during the day...probably the size of a doublewide at most?

You could get some welded wire fencing about 4' high which isn't terribly expensive and will keep out most 4 legged intruders but be sure to have netting or something over the top for flying predators.

I use the welded 4 ft wire fence for a 100 ft run from late fall until spring and free range the rest of the year. I also use those 4 ft hardwood construction stakes (a buck apiece) with zip ties and they work great. Until the ground freezes and snow arrives we can easily float the fence around. Fortunately we have no problem with aerial predators but do keep the young ones covered from crows until couple months old.
