Fencing to keep predators out

Can this netting be run on a shock box sold for livestock? Can it touch the ground? What are the posts made of?

Yes for charger although with lengths like mine you need about 0.5 joules per 164 ft length of fencing. It will touch ground. Posts made of fiberglass or a composite materials since do not conduct well.

High tinsel wire is a great invention but one or two strands of good old fashion barbed wire say at 6 and 18 inches is a great addition to a high tinsel electric fence. The tips of the barbs on barbed wire can reach down into a thick coat of hair and touch a chicken thief in places that a smooth strand of high tinsel wire is unable to do.

An electric fence in and of itself is in no way intended to keep something either contained or excluded. The purpose of an electric fence is to train animals that you want to confine or animals that you want to exclude from crossing an imaginary line. You can look at it like the conditioning Pavlov's puppies displayed at the ringing of a dinner bell. The one difference is that Pavlov's dogs received a positive reinforcement in the form of a food reward while an electric fence is a shockingly negative reinforcement. (pun intended)
