I am trying to figure how you dig the fence underground,
I saw some of ya'll place wire under the run...then just fold it up and attach it to the outside of run??

what do you do if you don't have wire under run. This is what I want to do. I read that you buried it about a foot underground. Can you explain how that is done.

sorry for being clueless.

thanks

Rather than bury wire, I use hardware cloth aprons attached to the baseboards of the run, extending outward flat on the ground for about 2 feet, and then staked down with landscaping staples. Much easier than digging and burying wire, and works as well or better to deter digging predators.

I bent the edge of the wire upward to form an "L" shape to fasten the apron to the baseboards:

p.s. Forgot to mention: I don't have any wire at all down on the ground inside the run.

Yes, it's on the outside of the run.

The aim is that if anything tries to dig into the run they come up against the wire fence and go no further.

I dug down 8-12 inches on the ouside of the run, and then rand 1x2 14 Ga. wire down, and then out 12 more inches and burried it. Here are some pics of how we did it. Hope this helps...

Instead of using wire, we have used tin roofing left over from a construction job on the chicken coop that we are setting up today... anything that tries to get to the chickens will have to dig for a long, long, long time.
