I live in San Diego and just moved into a new home, and found a feral rooster living in my backyard. Neighbors confirmed he is feral and showed up a couple weeks ago.
He is beautiful and very quiet, looks healthy. However I have a dog with a high prey drive, and I'm afraid if we're not careful the rooster might get eaten! I'm trying to reach out to local rescues, so far they are not accepting new animals.
Any advice would be appreciated! Or if anyone local is willing to take the rooster, we will try to safely capture him while he's sleeping in our tree at night.
