How many chicks would that setup be good for?

Probably up to eight chicks. Once chicks reach ten weeks, they aren't as likely to insist on wading in their food, so I switch to dog bowls on elevated dish stands I make myself. By that age, chicks are able to compete for food at the feeders the flock eats from.
