I put feed in a bucket, add water, stir. You'll need to adjust the water because it absorbs so much. You can feed out of this right away, it just won't be fermented yet, or you can let it sit several days until it ferments. Also, you can add acv or whey from yogurt (anything with live cultures) to jump start it. It will ferment faster in hot weather, slower in cold, so plan ahead.

A bit of advice. If you are changing from pellets, or dry feed, to fermented it is wise to do this gradually. Major diet changes upset the chickens digestive system.
