I think many people ferment a formulated ration - I ferment a non-GMO chick starter crumble (but pellets can be fermented, too) as the base feed for all my fowl (chickens, ducks, geese) and modify as needed for their stage of growth (e.g., lower protein for ducklings 3+ weeks old and all waterfowl get added nutritional yeast). I ensure that some is left from each batch to serve as a "starter" for the next.Thank you, Chebird, yes, what is ff. Instead of making the FF, why not give them yogurt as a probiotic.
