FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

Pics
They ate their FF, they were none too happy about it but they ate it. I was concerned that there was something they sensed about it that I didn't but that made no sense to me cause it looked & smelled ok. I was almost afraid to make them eat it if they didn't want it but I know it's better for them. Nuthin like having a war of attrition with a bunch of chickens.

Well, back on track! Thanks!

yep MUCH better for them, just like Bee said, not dessert but good old veggies, much healthier!!!

I will have chick pics soon they have started piping the egg! The eggs always hatch on day 20 from f.f. Fed parents.so let's see the hatch rate for them.only 8 of 12 of my non f.f. eggs hatched. Yay I'm so excited!

YAY, all 3 hatched, but I still left one chick in the bator because the shell is still dragging around behind him from the yolk sack still being attached, but its drying out nicely, if there is anything I should do please let me know!! but yet all babies are healthy shiny and don't stop peeping, big mouths!! they all hatched fri. and still have a 100% hatch rate on the f.f. babies!!!!

this chick is one of the hatch from last week..getting so big and feathering out nicely

this one is from Friday!! I tried to get a pic of the one in the bator but all u could see was the reflection of the camera!!

Wow! They look really good! That's something about the 100% hatch rate...it will be interesting to see if that continues, the ratio of pullets to cockerels you get, and the survival rate of the chicks to maturity. What great feedback..thank you!

What breed are these? Those are good sized chicks!

I'd be very pleased to see their progress into maturity and know how they get along. It's exciting to see first hand the good health and good size of the chicks produced from this superior nutrition.

I will keep y'all updated throughout there progress even after production of first eggs and all!! the father of some of the babies may be a black and white bantam roo I gave up to my friend, but he was same size as cici, the roo I still have!! you cant see it too well in the pic but his tail feathers have the beautiful green and purple sheen, he is gorgeous!!!! if you know what type of bantam he is I'd like to know, lol. so here is the mom and dad of my chicks!

Chickens are a little like kids...if they are hungry enough they'll eat just about anything, but if given the choice they only eat their favorites. Just think on it as making kids eat their healthy veggies instead of dessert.

Yes! I am in the process of switching over to FF, but even with dry feed, they get what they get and they don't throw a fit (this is a favorite saying of my 7 year old when he hears any other child complain). They are in a coop and large run due to predators, but I do have a light on at night for a little bit and in the morning for a little bit and they catch bugs. I do only give them as much feed as they will eat in 30-45 mins and then some alfalfa greens in the evening, though this will stop as soon as my batch of FF is done (shouldn't be long, South Texas is hot as h-e- double hockey sticks!) Thank you Beekissed for all your great info on this thread! This thread has given me so much more than just searching on the internet, and I greatly appreciate the time it takes to do it. I also want to say I love your avatar, that is a beautiful picture.
