Thank you, i believe this is a safe dosage and i will probably start with it when i have to start filling waterers. And the ACT is done brewing.
ACT?? Do you mean ACV, as in apple cider vinegar?

I know there has been discussions on how think FF needs to be, personal preference etc. However, I have heard that if there isnt an inch of water to form a cap on top of the FF it can grow bad bacteria and cause problems. Does anyone have any information or links that discusses it being ok not to cover in water etc?

The summer heat and humidity had mine really nasty smelling. I had in by the utility door inside even. I also have the 25# no waste pvc feeder which is super nice. Since they have been spending more time outside they aren't looking for it so much. I toss them leftover salads and sunflower seed and they come running back to their coop. That's what I had to do. Put it on hold. Now, I still have to figure out a place to bury the rest of what was in the bucket. (I was told I could not just dump it out on the ground.) I'm sure it's quite rancid by now without stirring it in over a week.
I know the ferment is said to be better for the chickens, but boy am I enjoying not having to mess with it everyday. Built some PVC feeders for the dry feed and haven't had to refill yet, so I'm getting a bit spoiled on that.
Quote: Thanks! I do everything you do except when I hose down their shady areas where they spend most of their "down time" I also spray the overhead trees and bushes so that they act sorta like a swamp cooler by cooling the air somewhat. It sounds like you do real good by your chickens. They can't complain !: )
I have been fermenting corn for a great number of years wont say what for but I dump the used product about half a bucket in the garden up the back yard and when I let the chooks out of an evening they make a dive to that spot keeps the birds on the wing happy also they really like it oldbird1.
