I asked on this forum about fermenting layer feed with animal protein on it and was told that it is alright to do it. Our bag just says "animal protein".I'm not going to lie I didn't search through the 210 pages of posts first.
Fish meal.
What happens when you ferment a feed with fish meal? I have heard it will get stinky but that's about it. Is it still safe to eat?
I just bought a 50lbs bag of feed and didn't realize it has fish meal.

Now that IS funny. I would like a barking roo. I have neighbors that would not be able to figure that one out. Nosy things that they are.![]()
I sprung for the 5 dollar dishes at the farm store and have used them for water for 5+ years with no cracks. Now there are more dishes due to the fermented feed. The hens still eat like piggies..... I wonder.... Perhaps I should see what kind of critter the dishes were designed for....... Might need ones for dogs so the hens can have a bark-a-thon all day.
I bet the neighbor would love that.![]()
