Is there a common standard for approximately how much fermented food an adult hen would require per day(I know that's a hugely general question but just trying to get a basic idea of where to start).
TIA

I think it is similar to dry feed. They need feed available all daylight hours. If you put out some and keep dry feed available for when they consume all the FF, that is the approach I take.
Eventually, you'll get a feel for how much they will eat. Never let them run out of food though.
A Jersey Giant hen will eat much more feed (perhaps twice as much or more) than a Serama hen.
What I'm getting at is that a chicken is a chicken but to ascertain how much one will eat, how much space they need or any other question, one needs to know the breed and whether LF or bantam plus other factors. Are they in a cage, coop, pen or free range?

How much have you been feeding? Start with that amount, and then adjust as necessary. If you've been feeding 10 cups of dry per day, ferment 10 cups, and see if they eat that much in a day. After they get used to it, they will probably eat a bit less.
Honestly, feeding dry food I have no idea how much they eat....I keep it "more" than full:idunno. Guess I need to pay a little more attention:D. Thanks for all the reply's you guys

How many birds? For a flock of 10 - 25 birds, just make a bucket of FF. You can then put out a bowl or trough full and see how long it lasts. If it's empty before the end of the day, give them more. Eventually, you'll have a sense of how much they will eat in a day. Even then, it's not a set amount, b/c if the scrounging is good, they will eat less FF. When I dump a new bag of leaves in the DL of the coop, the girls find lots to eat, so don't eat as much FF.

When your bucket is almost empty, you can replenish it. After the first ferment, the new bucket will be ready in 12 - 24 hours depending on the ambient temp and the temp of the water you use.

My flock tends to get 1/2C of FF per day, plus snacks (just 2 hand fulls of BOSS for a flock of 27) and a couple of eggs (with shell). I have a couple of very small chickens, a couple of very big chickens, and the rest are about average size. They are all healthy and living fine.

I use a 2 cup scoop, and tend to OVERfill the scoop as it is winter and they require a bit more feed.
