Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

I love his coloring......the neck is an acquired taste, however.

I hope not to find out any time soon. I plan to use him over a couple or five hen in the spring.

I'm hoping my White Leghorn and Ancona roos get to keep their combs and wattles. They just wouldn't look the same without them. I think those big ol' things are plumb cute, add character. lol

No, he doesn't even know I post here. I might have mentioned it to him in another Email and he seems to have a rather different take on the subject...

Remember ... Young people have a tendency to be idealistic.

Sometimes that's very good motivation, and sometimes life gives them a lesson and they end up having to adjust their dream a little.

It sounds like you have a good relationship. Any chicken is not worth half as much as that. I think its grand for you that he's planning on coming home when most people his age would be striking out on their own.

Thank you and I appreciate your words of wisdom. Fact is, he had already moved out and on with his life and had been gone for more than 12 years but I think his part in the war has made him think that 'home' meant a lot more to him than he ever realized.

As for the dubbing, There was little chance of it ever happening...it was just an over reaction due to the loss of one old cock that I had gotten used to having around.

Would I have used him again this year? Likely not but I still didn't like dispatching him. Yes, this crusty old ******* does indeed have a heart. lol
