Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

Something has been bothering me for a good while. In Final Jeopardy WHY do those ding dong people bet money, sometimes THOUSANDS, when they know they don't know the answer or have no answer at all then end up losing the game???? I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but even I know better than that!!! Somebody please tell me the logic in that???

If by learning deficiency you mean you can't correct him from bad behaviour, I had the same issue with this punk... But after he came at me once I knocked him upside the back of the head with a broom handle and he now gives me a wide berth when I'm out doing chores. He'll either learn that I'm the alpha around here or it'll be curtains for his sorry butt !

WBF, I have smacked this fool around like a hockey puck with a rake and whacked him a time or two with the feed pan. He won't learn! I hate to hurt him but I see a knife in his future if he doesn't get a clue. He doesn't scare me and it could be amusing but his attitude could be dangerous and I don't know that I would feel good getting somebody else to ever feed for me. He's a moody thang! I've got a knot on my hand now from his last mood swing. He's never broke the skin but he still leaves ouchies. LOL

On another note, here are some pics of my 7 month old BA, Rodney. He was the one that had developed a sneeze about 2 weeks after he came here... Now I hear no sneeze and his feathers have turned out to be quite shiny since being on FF. I had before pics when he first arrived but I can't seem to find them ... I wanted to show comparison of before and after FF... I'm convinced the FF has made is feathers the way they are today; when I first brought him home he had dull looking feathers and a much paler comb than what he has now after being on FF for about 2 months.

Now, that is one beautiful bird!!!

TW, I'm thinking it may have something to do with intent and the nature of your correction. Sort of like those folks who spank their kids all the time but the kids turn around and scream at them afterwards or try to slap their parents. When I see that or hear folks tell me about their kids doing that, inside I'm thinking, "Hon, if the kid can still talk coherently after you've spanked him, you aren't doing it hard enough." They should be snubbing over in a corner somewhere, scared to death to do that again. If they merely get mad when a person spanks them, the spanking was only hard enough to make them angry but not hard enough for correction of behaviors.

If the bird does anything but try hard to put distance between you and him every time you arrive in his space, I'm thinking he hasn't had a hard enough, decisive enough correction. He needs to be so frightened of you that no thoughts of aggression arise when you come in view...just escape.

This part...this is the part that needs to change, I'm thinking. He needs to feel enough pain that he never wants to feel it again.

He doesn't hate to hurt you, so you need to respond with that same attitude for him to respect you and get the picture.

They have to wager before knowing the question.

I know the feeling. I had a really nice CR roo about 10 years ago and no way would he stop attacking me. Even after I clubbed and kicked the darn thing he would still try and get at me. He went to the killing cone and dressed out nicely. I've read on another forum that you. Can sometimes break them of bad behaviour if they try and attack you, grab a ahold of him and pin him to the ground for a few mins by holding him down... Some say this will stop the behaviour, I have never tried it but it may be worth a shot.

Bee I agree 100%! hahahaha I leave the fool cowering in the corner or climbing the wall but a few days later he forgets all about it and here we go again. I'm thinking, "Dude do you REALLY want to go through this AGAIN!?!" LOL I don't want to break him up too bad because he may end up getting et'! LOL
