Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

I think if scientists want to meddle in genes they should put thier talents to good use and engineer a grass that stays green and only grows 1 inch tall will grow in sun or shade, and leave thier grimey hands off our food.

Ha! Love it!

Or, they could sell a combo pack: One bag grass seed plus one goat.

I'm not riled up either but I can make choices that are consistent with my values. I can't change the world by myself but when enough of us take little actions over time it can make a difference. I'm able to buy several different types of organic or non-gmo foods here - not so easy in other parts of the world but people around here have been asking long enough that farmers and even some corporations are filling that demand. Costs more - but people are happy to pay extra for the organic eggs and chicken I sell.

It gives me some satisfaction to know that Monsanto is making very little profit from me.

I prefer to live a quiet life of noncomformism....

I take care of my own little corner of soil and let others get feathers in a ruffle over the bigger events that are beyond our control. I've sort of come out and made myself separate from this ol' world and started at a very young age to do so. It's not that I'm not concerned but getting anxious over things I cannot change can really age a person and deteriorate the health.

Exactly. People can't understand why I don't 'care' about things. It's just that I can't change them. So why get my chicken diapers in a knot?

I have noticed something though. In the last year, my daughter in law was diagnosed as being allergic to wheat and gluten and all sorts of things. This type of allergy is indeed on the rise. And it just so happens to coincide with us having eaten GMO wheat and grains for a few years now, mostly unknowingly. Odd.

Hi all!
What a bunch of activity and more great information!

I have one week left before freezer camp. My meaties (and 5 SLW) are doing great on the FF. While I am not keeping statistics on grow-out weights, I am pleased at the size of the meaties. My SLW do look tiny compared to them! (Freedom Rangers)

I will report back and let you know how they taste! Wish I had read the info about herbs a few weeks ago, I could have tried that!
