I LOVE popcorn for supper....we make ours without butter, but with garlic salt, pepper, creole seasoning and brewers yeast and it is simply addictive.

whoooo.......gonna try that I am. I have a 'condition' in my body that is helped by eating lots of butter, though. Hey I was told by someone recently that popping corn is not GMO...is that too good to be true?

So here is new something new that happened to me with my FF. I have 2 small buckets going. One is red one is white. THey are both sitting on my kitchen counter. Been brewing nicely.

A day or 2 ago I put a plate on top of each to keep my puppy Lily from getting on the counter top & eating it all & so I had a spoon rest.

Tonight I just went to stir both buckets up & the white one had mold growing on it. Stinky mold !!! I scooped all the moldy FF out added some water & Mother AVC & gave it all a good stir again.

This has never happened before, The only difference this time around was the bucket colors & the plate tops. I am guessing the plate didn't let any air exchange & allowed the mold to grow. The bottom of the plate had moisture on it. I am guessing the only reason I didnt have any in the red bucket is because that the bucket I am using to feed them so the plate was off it this morning.

Plates have been set so there is air exchange again. Anyone else have this happen?

I could be wrong here but I don't think you will be having many hens out of that bunch. They look like production blacks which are a sex link breed...meaning they can distinguish between the males and females at birth...the males have a white dot on the head and the females do not. Yours look to be mostly or all males from that pic. Whoever gave or sold you the chicks knew that when they gave them to you.

Don't forget that I live in Costa Rica, things are no where the same as in the USA or Europe. According to the folks, the ministry of agricultural where I got the chicks, these are supposed to be 50/50 sex wise. As I mentioned they are being bred for folks who are home folks, small folks who have chickens who for their own use and for eggs. I will continue to post the results of weight gain and in time how many pullets and cockerels. I didn't mention that these chicks were FREE, no charge, they are trying to build up folks flocks that are trying to feed their families.

well the price is right, no matter what you will get something to eat out of that batch, either eggs or roosters for meat. I'm guessing that sex linked is sex linked no matter where you are in the world it will be interesting to get your report in a few weeks, enjoy and good luck
