Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

I have mine in a cardboard box. There was FF everywhere!

It is not just you.

Paramedic here, so totally understand the "dark humor". I can be telling a complety funny story (I think anyway) and my family will be looking at me like I need serious psychiatric help if I find it funny.
I KNOW, RIGHT?! You look up at their faces and see horror there, and then you just kind of wind down and fade away...I usually finish with a meek "sometimes it's just for me" ...

(fan of dark humor, too)
thanks for understanding!

So true! I remember completely grossing out someone at an Xmas dinner table once - my husband was trying to kick me under the table and got the next person to me

and then my neice got up really quickly and ran to the washroom.... oops

I can't help but laugh when people hurt themselves. Falling. Jamming fingers. It's an outbreak of laughter everytime.

It sure gets me into trouble.

they say 90% of humour is based on other's misfortunes.

Personally I think it's 'thank goodness it isn't me that's happened to - for a change!

You have to start off with a disclaimer sometimes like before the movie starts...
But honestly, you would not (or perhaps you would) believe the crazy stuff that people end up doing to get into ER.

Anyway as Kassaundra would probably agree, you need a strong stomach and an overdeveloped sense of humour to work in these situations. Nuff said!

So back to an earlier question; has anyone noticed their eggs smelling of FF? My DH says they do - I can't smell or taste it in them...

Sorry, I just do not believe that EVERYONE has worms. Have you any evidence to back up that claim?

I know that when I have taken my dog to the vet they will do a stool sample to test for worms, 99% of the time none are found.

I think I could take a stool sample from my chickens to the vet right now and have them find NO worms.

EDITED TO ADD: I'd like to add here that almost all worms that infest chickens are microsopic in size, you are NOT going to see them with the naked eye. Just because you don't see them doesn't mean they aren't there.

I keep seeing the statements thrown out there that everyone and everything has worms but never see any research to back it up.

https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/wormy-tidbits-of-information I use Safeguard except I don't dilute in drinking water, just give it to them straight, with a needleless syringe, right down the throat.

Check out this research if you don't believe it. It covers equine, canine, and human. The part dealing with humans is toward the bottom of the page. http://www.apcnaturalresearch.com/research/parasite1.htm

The "research" you quote is totally unconvincing to me, because if one bothered to do further investigation on strongyles one would see the gaping holes in this "research". Each person is free to believe as he/she wishes, I simply listen to others, research what they've said, and come to my own conclusions. I'm a nerd and a bit untrusting of others, so that process works well for me.
