Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

I got to post a brag to. I've been feeding my chicks ff for a little over a week now. Look at this girls feathers
.
They saw me coming with their feeding bucket and here they came. I sit it in the chair since I wasn't quite ready to put it in their trough. I thought one of the BA's were going to jump up in the chair. You can see all of them under the chair. They wasn't leaving the food.

I think this stuff is like crack to them. lol

I got started on the deep litter method in their run this evening. They already are liking it. I only had some fresh cut grass I had swept up and some leaves and just a bit of pine straw. I plan on adding more to it tomorrow. This took me 3 hours to get done in this heat!

Some of the BA's scratching around in the deep litter. As you can see from it being fuzzy they were on the move!

Mine will try to jump up onto the edge of the bowl as I'm carrying it out to them! The first time, it took me by surprise and there was a right mess involved.

Well, I added to my ferment bucket yesterday morning and really filled it up, stirred it well and got the backslopped ferment water well mixed in. This morning, in this cold weather, the feed was merely moist but didn't have that lovely FF smell. We'll see what tomorrow brings and if it will ferment the feed. If not, I will either bring it inside or go back to dry feeds for the winter months(hate to do that).

Thank you all for the will wishing on my cold. Right now it's just in the snuffy head, heavy chest stage....but tonight, if we still have power, I'll do "the treatment" and knock it right on out of my body. It has worked well for me in the past and may do so again.
OK now I gotta know WHAT the treatment is? Do tell because I have allergies and like right now my left ear is bothering me from my allerigies. I always wind up in the Dr's office some where in May or June but thank the Lord I missed that this year. Yes thank You God! But now my ear is bothering me and I have used peroxide until I am blue in the face so to speak so I'd LOVE to know WHAT your treatment is?

The treatment consists of raising core temps to simulate a fever, thus rushing white blood cells to the source of the invasion(in this case, a cold virus) so they can kill it off naturally. It has to be done properly or it is just ineffective...much like free ranging...and people then claim it simply does not work for them because they half-a$$ed it and expected it to work the same as it does for me.

lol yeah I had a cockerel to jump up ON my arm trying to eat out of the bucket the first day I was feeding them the FF......lol That was their 2nd go round and he just jumped up and started eating. I was rolling laughing at it because their only about 2-1/2 to 3 months old now if I am remembering right.
