Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

I'll share anything I have with the neighbor of the food I have....but I won't share with his dog if the dog comes to take it by force.

If my dog came on his land to rabble rouse the livestock, I would fully expect him to give him a .22 lead injection and would probably do it myself if he brought him home to me and reported he was chasing livestock. I have no tolerance of domestic animals that don't know the order of things in domestic life...gotta have some rules.

I cant believe people tresspass like that! Don't they realize if they don't personally own the property, someone else does and it just isn't polite to venture n it without permission!? I swear parents don't teach etiquette or rules anymore they figure the schools or society will and in the meantime kids just get told that everything they do is wonderful so their self esteem isn't crushed... everyone grows up arrogant and self absorbed and never even thinks to consider others or what is polite or at least logical...they're too busy with fantasy football on their smart phones to think! Heck! I live in the city and our new neighbors have 2 kids who somehow multiply to about eight because they have relatives down the block and there is no yard for them to play in....so the kids started playing in my yard! Their parents never told them not to, I asked! They also never are told to go to bed so they are playing basketball (the hoop actually faces my yard so ts virtually impossibpe for the ball not to bounce into my yard...nice of the adults isnt it) until 10:30-11 at night hollering and running on my lawn and even in tye street which isnt lit!, waking me up because it sounds like they hit my house with the ball and they are in my living room. These kids are taught no respect and given no standards by their parents! So I have to be the mean woman next door who stops their fun. I try to be nice to them, its not exactly their fault that they don't know any better. When we move to the country in the next decade, we will put up electric fence, signs and a gate on our road. I will carry a gun (if just for snakes and surprises) and I'll make sure the whole town know I'm crazier than any 10 nuts in the looney bin. Especially in California, you have to keep people off your property for lawsuits alone.

I agree, a whole lot of parents these days are raising some pain in the backside kids! And no it's not really the kid's fault. They have no guidance on what is right and what is wrong. I wouldn't have even consider doing what some kids do these days, and nobody had to point it out and tell me not to do it! I believe common sense is lacking in a whole lot of people anymore and they're breeding more of the same. Can you imagine what it will be like in this country in 50 years!?!

You wouldn't believe some of the things the neighbor family I mentioned earlier have done. It would be bad if I had to live next to them! No doubt there would be a big electric fence between us and hate it for them if their moron grandkids and dogs can't stay off of it. LOL

Aloha,

I didn't realize you guys are so hardcore!  Whew!

Anyways, I just added rolled barley to my mix and the chickens are fighting over it.  The way it's all swelled up and soft and gooey, I think they think it's a bug.

Take care, Puhi

Hey, I'm still available for house sitting! LOL Can't you post some pictures now and then, just so we can do some daydreaming? :) How about a picture of a chicken on the beach??? lol

Yep, when people started treating animals like they're people thinks got a little crazier.

That's pretty cool that a lot of you open carry there. I don't ever see anybody open carry here unless they are going or have been hunting. There are a whole lot of concealed carriers though!

I use to be a pretty good shot with a .22 rifle. Shot guns are better to me though, less chance of missing. The only problem is if you need to pick off something and don't want to injure what is right next to it, like a stray dog with a chicken in its mouth - kind of like a hostage situation! LOL I may have to try out one of those Judges. Sounds like it would be ideal for a farm gun. I suppose you could load it up with some .410's and some .45's so you would have either available. But that would get confusing in a tight situation. I do hate my ears ringing though.
So this "Judge" will shoot both a .410 and a .45? That sounds pretty cool! I'll have to look that one up.

We have a lot of open carriers here in my state too. I have no idea how many concealed carriers we have. My husband is one of them though and he says that if you open carry and you find yourself in a place where some unsavory character wants to force his will onto those around him, he will take out those who open carry first.

Either way, I feel quite safe here. It's nice to know there are so many like minded people who aren't gonna put up with any of that BS that goes on in so many places.
