Your welcome, I just love the look and everything about the NN's. I started w/ EE which are pretty cool too, but am gradually changing my flock to the NN's. I live in an area w/ brutal summers and they do so much better. My flock is for eating too, and I find them easier to process even w/ skinning the birds instead of plucking. Mine aren't straight run of the mill NN, mine have some top knots, some FM (dark skin and flesh) and some beards.

LOL, I just saw under your name "sonic screwdrivers are cool". My 4yr old goes threw Walmart sconicing everything and everyone looks at him so strange. They don't know what they are missing.

That little girl is the most precious corn muncher I've ever seen! Talk about healthy eatin' kids! Didn't even wait for it to be cooked....

A good friend of mine sent me this picture of a hen house at a village in Pakistan.

Ain't nobody cleaning that puppy out! How interesting....I've always wanted to build a haybale/cob coop for the chooks, which would be much like the adobe one in the pic. I saw a pic of such years ago and the nests were formed out of the cob and looked like little alcoves in the walls that cupped outwards...very neat.

Every house I have seen there in Pakistan has a "courtyard" type yard with an approx 8 foot brick wall surrounding the house and yard. The people who own livestock keep them just outside the house in the courtyard - water buffalo, goats, chickens, etc. I showed my Pakistani friend a picture of my yard and he told me I had no protection (because I don't have an 8' wall around the yard). He said I needed a mean dog because I have no protection! That is a sad reality in their lives, always needing protection form other people.

I agree! How blessed are we here in America? We have no concept of that kind of life in most areas of this country. I've lived for many years with my doors unlocked at all times and my big, not so mean dogs in the back yard fence. No gun by my bed, no fear in my heart when I lay my head down to sleep. Many millions of people live every day and night in abject fear of being killed, raped or other wise hurt.
