No not here and I use white buckets. In a Couple of weeks the girls will be on straight grains & I will be using fish meal then. But I am just going to add it as I feed so it doesn't stick as much

Yes...everyday....haven't gotten the consistency down to a tee yet........still needs draining a little....
Dang...Stephen is off right now.....I'm going to ask him to get me some more buckets......worrying about killing my chickens! I'm glad I read everything today! Thank you all.....
That's what started me worrying BF....ya'll were talking how your chickens love it and it not lasting long....mine act like I'm torturing them bringing it out there..well not that bad.........I hope I have not been stupid and hurt them in any way. They just pick at it all day....there has got to be something wrong.......if they find a little dry on the ground, they attack it like they haven't eaten in months.....everyone has a good weight so I know they are not starving, but jeepers......makes me want to go home and make a new batch to see the difference....or if it is indeed the fish meal....cause it DOES stink.....not rotten stink, just stink......Oh, hon, you are just doing too much work on that. I drilled holes in the trough feeder so that any sloppiness from the feed is drained out there. They eat it so fast that it rarely has any time to drain but any moisture left in the feeder when they are done just drains out into the soil. Drill those holes and slop that feed, girl!Yer a working woman and ya don't have time for all that straining and such.![]()
Thank you WBF....I get my food grade buckets from the local grocery store for free... Try the bakery and/or the deli departments ... They always seem to have buckets they want to get rid of.

Maybe they are just overfed. Cut back on rations and see if it perks them up a bit at feed time. I've cut rations so much now that I'm barely even feeding these big ol' ten ton fannies!
