Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

Today my kids visited and helped me get in wood, I repaired massive holes in a Jeep with bondo, we cut and split a load of firewood and loaded it into storage, admired the absolutely stunning day that God created for us~the clouds were simply stunning!~ and watched a 5 pt. buck chasing a doe in heat in the yard...where they both stopped to eat apples and show off their mating rituals while last year's fawn tried to stay with mama and the buck kept running him off. Fascinating!!! Then a huge, golden moon rose up to grace a starry sky.....what a day!!!!

TW, I would gladly come over and clean your house and do laundry right now....it was that great of a day!

Hey...ol' BUD was the only rooster brave~or dumb~ enough to take a bite out of me, so I give respect where respect is due...sorta. Butt sniffin'? I leave that to Jake..it's his passion and he's an expert at it!

I'm glad you had such a good day and even better that it was with your kids. I'd hate to ruin it with smelly laundry and dirty floors. lol Can't believe you didn't put that buck in some Mason jars of his own. haha

Still bow season here and you can't really wing an arrow at a deer on the fly like you can a bullet...bow hunting is a stealth situation.

If he's still rutting around here next week, the boys will stitch his hide with an arrow so quick it'll make his horns spin. Today was a work day, not a hunting day...more's the pity. Next week deerslayers #1 and #2 will be hunting in stealth mode while the bucks chase every doe in heat they can find around here....if they get one in their sights we'll have more deer in the jar real quick and in a hurry.

Ol' Jake is still cleaning up all the bones and skulls from the last 4 deer taken here...I've got one whole carcass still preserved in a tree for him because he can't keep up.

He's one lucky dog, I tell ya....

Yep! And it's apple season too and he is a fool for apples, so he's in hog heaven right now. He don't know whether to wind his butt or scratch his watch, he's got to many good things to gnaw on!

Bee that sounds like my hens. I have been letting them in the veggie garden the last few days. They don;t know if they want to be in the run with the compost pile or digging thru the leaves in the garden or eating the cover crop in there. They def have some full crops at night with all their choices. Eat up I tell them thats less feed I have to give them
