Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

Good! Rest and elevation, ice and gentle range of motion when you can think of it will do more than anything else and that brace can really stabilize it when you are bearing weight.

I love zip ties!!!

They have taken first place on my list of versatile things now and scooted duct tape down the list a bit. I've used thousands of zip ties in the past few years! Duct tape is my friend, but zip ties ROCK.

I'm going to move my old thermometer up in the coop tomorrow so I can measure temp differences inside vs. outside in this cold snap. Will probably zip tie it to the hoop.....

Mr. Sissy Butt Leg Warmers hasn't come out of the coop during this whole episode of snow and cold...I even had to force him down off the roosts at feeding time this morning. He's a pretty boy but he's nowhere as tough as BUD was. I kinda miss ol' BUD. He and I liked the same movies and the same seasoning on our popcorn, though he did like to hog the remote.
You had me howling in laughter until I couldn't breath hacking and coughing the whole time with that statement. Daughter and hubby watching the Saints game and they wanna know whats sooooo funny.

TW hurt her foot, turning her ankle on a frozen rut in the snow. She is wearing a brace on it now and they say nothing is broken but it will take awhile heal up properly, I'm thinking.
oh noooo TW take care of that thing because many moons ago I turned mine in a hole in our yard and it's NEVER been right because I didn't go get it seen about. :( Take care of that thing so you wont have trouble with it! Now EVERY TIME it's going to rain or gets really cold my ankle hurts me.

@ChocolateMouse... Dang, I really do feel for you! Please do take care of yourself. I can't imagine hips popping out of joint - oh my gosh! And isn't that always how it seems to go when you fall, you land right on what is bothering you the most at the time. :(

Wow, sorry religion has been such a sore spot in your life. I don't think it's supposed to be. My kind of faith can't possibly be pushed on somebody. It is a very personal thing between the person and their Maker. I have met quite a few people overseas who endure amazing hardship trying to follow the faith they choose. Many people are jailed and some even put to death over it. I have spoke to many that really, literally fear for their life because they have chose to leave their family or country's religion. It always amazes me that a family could turn on a loved one and actually kill them for leaving the family religion. We need to all be thankful that we live in a country where we are free to choose what religion we want or none at all without the very real threat (promise) of losing our head.

Bee, that's the kicker (parden the pun LOL), I didn't even turn my ankle. I stepped on that rut and felt a crunch in my foot. Crazy!

Thank you Rose. :) Oh yeah I will have to do my best with this thing. If not it will remind me with every step! And you are so right about the weather and joints - not fun! Sometimes I hurt so bad then come to find out some crazy weather is headed our way.

I told her, Rose, to get to the Orthopedic doctor. I broke my ankle in 2000.....very severely, might I add.......then developed a spur that frayed a tendon and had to had the tendon repaired. Doc said I would have been in real trouble if I hadn't had the surgery when I did. Better to get Ortho involved since there is so much stuff in the ankle and foot that can be injured.

I love zip ties too, Bee. My capons are color coded with zips.

Mr Sweetums may not want to get his leg warmers all iced up and ugly because the girls thing they're sexy......lol. They are probably thinking that their babies would be awful cute if their legs looked like their daddy's

How come I am threatened with the 'BUD stick" and TDubya isn't?????? MOM, you aren't being fair!!

Wow ChocolateMouse, you are dealing with a lot. I do admire your attitude. You keep on being tenacious. I will be pulling for you to succeed!

Lisa :)

I've got a contract with TWs rooster, wherein he performs all the necessary discipline of TW for me. It helps for when I cannot be at two places at one time with the BUDstick....

For now.....it's getting a little more dicey here in the US for folks who have faith. Won't be long now before the expression of that faith is labeled a hate crime.
