Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

Had a most unusual night last night. My SIL's dad put my utility cart together for me. They had a late Christmas party and invited me to come with the family also. Aimee does not care for MIL so she and GS AJ stayed home. So I go to this house I don't know, people I don't know and had the time of my life. One of my happiest memories. Clint's mom was super nice to me and even bought me presents. 2 Tshirts and a box of candy. I was so grateful to be accepted as part of their family. Lots of laughter and talk of chickens.

Clint's dad is also the one that wired my new store house. I took her an orchid plant that really was beautiful.
When we left, I told Clint "I thought you said it wouldn't be fun". He said," It's never been like that before. Everybody must have been on their best behavior". Amazing. I'm a laugher, a hugger and I expect the same. And I got it. I truly feel blessed.

Good!  Rest and elevation, ice and gentle range of motion when you can think of it will do more than anything else and that brace can really stabilize it when you are bearing weight.
This place looks like "rest"! I need to wash dishes, sweep, vacuum, mop, do laundry and change beds! Ahhh. (sigh)

I love zip ties!!! :love   They have taken first place on my list of versatile things now and scooted duct tape down the list a bit.  I've used thousands of zip ties in the past few years!  Duct tape is my friend, but zip ties ROCK
Ahhh yes, good ole zip ties. :) What did we do before them? Yep, grass string. LOL

I'm going to move my old thermometer up in the coop tomorrow so I can measure temp differences inside vs. outside in this cold snap.  Will probably zip tie it to the hoop.....  :D
I had to go in and out of my one coup a couple times while I was working on it and it was pretty toasty in there. I'm glad because we have some COLD weather almost here. Oh boy, weather is showing "winter storm warning" and the county below us has a ... well it's gone now thank goodness - it was showing a "wind chill advisory".

Mr. Sissy Butt Leg Warmers hasn't come out of the coop during this whole episode of snow and cold...I even had to force him down off the roosts at feeding time this morning.  He's a pretty boy but he's nowhere as tough as BUD was.  I kinda miss ol' BUD.  He and I liked the same movies and the same seasoning on our popcorn, though he did like to hog the remote.
I knew you would miss ol' Bud. :) You two have a lot of history ...and a lot of movies under your belt. LOL I hope you and Sissy Boy can agree on your popcorn seasoning! lol Well maybe he will toughen up. I can't blame him, I would be the big sissy still in the coop. lol

I told her, Rose, to get to the Orthopedic doctor.  I broke my ankle in 2000.....very severely, might I add.......then developed a spur that frayed a tendon and had to had the tendon repaired.  Doc said I would have been in real trouble if I hadn't had the surgery when I did.  Better to get Ortho involved since there is so much stuff in the ankle and foot that can be injured.

I'm going to try to get that done this coming week. We've got some bad weather on the way that is fixing to shut things down for a few days if it is anything like they predict. But I will get it seen about. :)

I LOVE times like that!

Maybe you take your blessings with you wherever you go and people just respond to how lovely a person you are!

Because you are, you know.

I had a wonderful day today too, with family, laughter and good eats~a very blessed day! Even found some stunning deals at Good Will for youngest son's birthday today...like new Levi jeans X2, three quality shirts, a winter coat... and a very good brand name of shoe~all leather~ that fit the Ol' Bat like they were made for her...all for under $30. Another great GW find was a lovely couch and chair set for $100 for my other son and DIL~the couch had two built in recliners and the whole set was clean, beautiful and of good quality.

All in all it was a very beautiful and productive day filled with love and laughter. Like you, Linda, I felt like my blessing cup was filled, shaken and pressed down, and overflowing....and I praise God for it!

I've got a contract with TWs rooster, wherein he performs all the necessary discipline of TW for me.  It helps for when I cannot be at two places at one time with the BUDstick....   :D

I can believe that! LOL He has been on his best behavior for a few days now. But ya never know... I was poking my fingers through the wire when I was zip tying things down and the pullets were pecking my fingers. I kept expecting him to attack! LOL

For now.....it's getting a little more dicey here in the US for folks who have faith.  Won't be long now before the expression of that faith is labeled a hate crime.
Oh yeah that is without a doubt coming. We see the evidence every day!

Oh, Bee, what a truly fine person you are. I've always been the optimist, never the pessimist. And that's how I like it.

@Linda & Bee... I'm glad you two had a good day with family and friends. :) My nephew came by and stayed a while. That was good, still love hanging out with that boy even if he is growing up on me -which I don't like at all! If it were up to me I would have kept him 4 years old, just maybe forever. :)

Boy, do they ever!!!  Both of my daughters that live locally at one time or the other lived with me.   Again, and again.    But I've got payback.  Now I live with Aimee DD     :lau

I have seen that time and time again here in my family. Sometimes it is a good thing and I have seen times that it didn't go so well. lol
