Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

You might as well, I'll be whining then too! LOL Where is the weather perfect- 70-85'F, about 40% humidity, sun shining, a light breeze. Ahhh I need one of those drinks with an umbrella. lol

The Caribbean. That's the place to be....white sands, crystal clear water, constant light breeze, little humidity, water temp in the 80s, ambient temps in the low 80s..umbrella drinks. Pick me up on your way there!

 Yes!  I'll take this cold any day over hot and humid.  Fat girl can take cold better than most...my whole metabolism is geared towards cold weather climates, I burn fuel at a very low rate and can maintain good conditioning on little feed, so I'm imminently suited to cold mountain climates.  I carry enough insulation that I can go out in cold temps in shirt sleeves while others are bundled up and whining.

When it's hot and humid I melt like a snow cone in Phoenix and just can't dredge up the will to move and breathe.  :th

I have never liked winter. Yeah the snow is really beautiful and in my younger years I loved to play in it. But since growing up I don't like it at all. The heat didn't use to bother me too bad. But the bigger you get the harder it is on you. I'd still take the heat (within reason) over the cold any day. The only thing I like about winter anymore is I don't sweat like I do in the summer ...AND no ticks and other evil little bugs ...and the snakes are hid out. But beautiful sunshine just seems to warm my soul. :)

I would really LOVE to live somewhere like that! Ever since I was a kid I'd daydream about living on my very own beautiful little island. Maybe too much Gilligan's Island...? LOL

OK me tinks I am going to get over there on our sofa and lie er down. Just plain wore myself out today getting the chickens hunkered down and snug as a bug in a run. Pose to be like 12 tomorrow night and rain has already set in. Just glad that held off for me to get all that done. Don't need to be getting wet! I got out there and put up wind breaks and closed in some of their walls with cloth and stuff to help block the wind some. Closed off the run so they can't get out into it but just keeping them under the sheltered area until this mess blows over. Anyway I am wiped out since I haven't really been doing much of anything since I was sick. Am getting better and I sure hope and pray it continues!

Rose I had to use an empty shavings bag and herd a rooster and about. 4-5 pullets in their coop so I could close it up. You would have thought I was trying to kill them! LOL

Finally! That's good news!

My birds are as tucked as they are going to be also. I'm not a bit worried about this cold, though I hate to see them go through it I know they are ultimately designed and acclimated to the outdoors and cold temps. We've had temps in the teens for many nights here and they act like it's nothing.

Part of this flock have also done temps in the low single digits with wind chills below zero before and they acted like it was nothing then too, though they are old gals now and if a bird dies from the cold in this it will be Little Red Hen or the new guy, Fluff Muffin Sweetums.

Those two are the least equipped at this time to weather severe temps~Red because she is just getting over a molt and her ankles look swollen like she may be having some circulatory problems, and Sweetums because he has very little meat on his bones and seems very affected by the cold.

Raining here now and 49*....tomorrow is supposed to be 23* and -4 at night..this rain is going to be a sheet of ice out there. I've got crampons for my boots if need be but you folks be very careful in the morning when going out to feed....the right weather for bad falls.

Be careful!!!

IF that story is true, not saying you are lying only that I do not know your source so no idea whether it is trustworthy or not. But If it is it is a partial story, there is missing information, like for instance the photographer was under some binding contractural agreement, or something similar.

I as a privet not taking public monies, I'll say photographer, but any other business will work, cannot be forced to take any job I do not agree to take. If I am hiring an individual to work for my company I cannot refuse to hire someone from a protected group (age, gender, race etc....) for the reason they are in that group, I can refuse to hire them for any other reason though. If I am a wedding photographer and you come to hire me to shoot your wedding I can refuse for any reason I want to. It is my business, my job, my descision.

I heard about it on Fox News. They went on and on about it. Of course, they blamed it on the liberals.
