Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

Yay!! You know what? I don't think he'll lose those....I have a feeling he'll just lose maybe just that furthermost sharpness of the point to where his points will look a little dull or blunted, but I doubt he loses the whole points.

Thought I'd give a little update on Rodney's frost bitten comb. After applying 2 or 3 good coats of castor oil I think his comb is looking a lot better. Just a few white/yellowish tips that he'll likely lose, but no infection and his comb has bounced back really good from what it was !

Thanks to Bee for suggesting that I try using castor oil... It definitely seems to have helped !
That is fantastic news! Rodney is one handsome dude!

Lisa :)

Angel, I have a cull from my just weaned litter I wanna try this with once my does sell so I can quarantine the rabbit and see how it does. I would look at how much they eat dry and go from there.

I think you're right, Bee... It looks like there is some red in the points below the very tip so keeping my fingers crossed !

Thanks, Lisa ! :)

I am considering buying a cabinet type incubator. Does anyone use or have experience with a GQF model 1202?

Everybody getting ready for the next winter blast? Heard it's coming. Hummmmm. Well it'll be gone by next Friday and I'm gonna go to a culling party with a fellow BYC buddy that lives fairly closeby. Jennifer is going to teach me the basics. I don't promise about the axe though. I'm planning on a cone and a knife.

I've watched and read so many methods of processing I feel confident about that. But the point is, I'm getting my feet wet. She seems so nice. I'll report back on how it went.

Yes, I learned the hard way that you need to watch your hands and knife angle carefully. I think the cones were a bit low for me, so I was working at a weird angle to start. Luckily I was working with a couple people with a well stocked first aid kit in the house, and the 'slice' only needed 4 stitches.

My training ended early that day.

I am definitely going to be looking into the fermented feed approach. Seems simple enough to try.

Looks like the intro to a Tim Burton movie......

We need a touch of spring!

This one is not mine but I just had to borrow it for this spring/summer montage. Isn't that just darling???

How about it, folks?? Anyone out there want to give their spring montage gallery to cheer up the ol' TDubya?
