Yes, I can understand this story on all counts! Next time I'd let them get really hungry...an all day fast, then top dress a small amount of the FF with the CO/PS mixture so they will get a concentrated dose. They say the cucurbitin level has to be pretty high to affect a change in the worms. I'd say it's the same thing with the castor bean extract.

They WERE really hungry - he shut them out of the run at 6.30am about 10 min after I put out their FF - and they hadn't had much - then all they had was water and what they could scratch up in the new section of the run - and they almost cleaned it out yesterday - thought their crops would burst when we got them back in yesterday - size of cricket balls! Today they did not have as much vegetation to eat.

After they've eaten that small amount of FF laced with the goodies, then I'd feed them their regular ration. More than one way to skin a cat, they say.

That was what I thought - no go.

If I lived nearby we'd tackle that coop together...I know exactly what you mean by the poor "vision" of men...they look at something and only complicate it, we look at something and see the big picture. Of course, there are women that lack that sort of vision too, so can't knock the guys too much but they just happen to be the people with the tools and the carpentry experience in most cases.

It was as extremely funny series - HOWEVER - if you actually live with him (or one like him) it is a totally different matter - believe me.

NO-ONE can throw a tantrum like him - and he is 70 !

Turk here from Ky. I've been reading this thread every chance I get! So much information and so interesting! I'm hoping a newbie will be welcomed. We plan to start our Dark Cornish cockerels on FF when they arrive, due June 12. Our plans are to keep only Buckeyes ...when we can find the right ones.

Any help or advice for starting new chicks on FF will be greatly appreciated. I've read so much that I'm a bit confused with older information compared to newer trains of thought.

I'm Told that Beeskissed is the GURU but I will appreciate all who are willing to give me guidance.

We plan to start our Dark Cornish cockerels on FF when they arrive, due June 12. Our plans are to keep only Buckeyes ...when we can find the right ones.

Any help or advice for starting new chicks on FF will be greatly appreciated. I've read so much that I'm a bit confused with older information compared to newer trains of thought.
